The Buser Report's Official Statement on Black Lives Matter (BLM)

The past couple of weeks have been tumultuous and have left a huge stain on our great nation. We came together to help those in need during the COVID-19 outbreak and have altered our way of life as a result. However, this sense of community and love was shattered with the unjustified death of one George Floyd and the continued injustices faced by our fellow neighbors and members of the black community.

While the American people have made great strides in attempting to fix the problems stemming from the past, we still have fallen short of its desired effects. Laws have been created to ensure the equal treatment of all people in this nation, however, these have not been applied equally. There is no denying the unequal application of such laws in our criminal justice and education systems. There have been considerable progress since I have been a citizen of the United States, but more can be and needs to be done.

My stance on Black Lives Matter is simple, yet like everything I do or believe, rational and logical. As an American Soldier, I swore an oath to defend the people and the Constitution of the United States. The Solider's Creed states that I serve the people of the United States. I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life embodied in the supreme law of the land, The Constitution. I serve to secure the liberties of "our prosperity." The United States is the bedrock and example of freedom and I continue to serve and make strides within my ranks to ensure its continuity. As a Christian, I turn to the Word in these difficult and trying times. In Mattew 22:37-40, Jesus replied to the Pharisees: "‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” At the end of the day, regardless of any external commitments, all human beings are deserving of the decency and respect you would give yourself.

While there isn't much I can do as I am a small, independent content creator, I still have a platform and I still have a voice. Currently, I have many articles in the works highlighting the injustices faced by the black community. These topics range from police brutality, inherent racism in American society, and all-around second class citizen treatment. Until I am able to donate more time and funds to ensure the equal rights of the black community, I will use this platform I have. If there is anything you wish for me to write about or analyze to bring to light, please let me know and send it my way.

It is time for the American people to come together to right the wrongs of past generations once and for all and demand a future where equality reigns supreme. Through our united efforts, we can achieve this and so much more. The Buser Report stands with Black Lives Matter, today and tomorrow.
