Joe Biden Said What?!

Vice President Joe Biden, Democrat front runner for the 2020 election said in an interview with The Breakfast Club host and radio personality, Charlemagne tha God, that he wasn't black enough if he voted for Trump. No people, I am not making this up. He actually said this. On a live interview. Below is the portion of the interview in which he said it.

Yes, he actually said, "if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black." This all stemmed from the question of who he had on his shortlist for his running mate. Charlemagne said he would most likely alienate black voters if his ticket did not include a black running mate. Charlemagne stated it was black voters that saved him during the primaries, especially in South Carolina, where he was propelled into the delegate lead during Super Tuesday. Biden currently has Stacey Abrams, Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif), and Rep. Val Demings (D., Fla.), as well as Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.).

In response to what Biden said in the interview, Charlemagne later criticized the comment. He said, "if his reasoning for people like me that still might be skeptical [is] ‘if you vote for Trump over me, you’re not black’ that’s kinda crazy."

What does everyone else think? Well Twitter and other social media platforms are in a frenzy. I know many of my Democrat friends are defending him, saying it was a joke. There was even this tweet from Jemele Hill:

So, let us really dissect this for what it really is. Should Joe Biden have said this or even hinted at this? Absolutely not. I completely understand it was a joke. If you have ever listened to The Breakfast Club, then you can understand why Biden would have gone this route. However, it was simply uncalled for. At the end of the day, this was pandering at it's finest and a poor joke any other way. This is his "hot sauce in my purse comment." Taking politics out of the question, he basically said, blacks have no free will and have to keep voting Democrat. This is akin to telling black people to 'get back in line' at the plantation. I am not the happiest with Trump but I respect people who voted for him and the reasons why they would. Are black people not allowed to vote for who they feel the best candidate would be? You can imply thoughts from Trump, but it was Biden, the front runner of the party of resepct and tolerance, that was the racist and actually proved it. This will absolutely hurt his chances in November and I would not be surprised if Trump is elected for a second term. This kind of comment is disgraceful and unbecoming of a man in his position. Joke or not, this was disgusting.
